Comfort Ministry

Ministry Leader:
Assumption Church: Norma Cillo, Ncillo1@aol.com
St. Nicholas Church: Donna Meineke, Todo69@comcast.net

Mission Statement:
Our ministry consists of volunteers from the parish who are trained to minister to parishioners at the time of death of a loved one. They help to plan a meaningful funeral liturgy and are present to the family during the hours of their greatest need. This beautiful ministry is both a compassionate and creative opportunity to serve others.  In some churches they are known as Arimatheans, named after Joseph of Arimathea, who helped bury Jesus.  Arimatheans are asked to be present for the Mass of Christian Burial of fellow parishioners.  It is a quiet ministry with no attendance requirements, no meetings, no dues, but members take their obligation seriously and are present at the funeral liturgies when their schedule permits.
