Ecclesiastes: 1:2, 2:21-23

Psalm: “If today you hear God’s voice, harden not your heart.”

Colossians 3:1-5,9-11

Luke 12:13-21

“Seek what is above where Christ is seated.

“Think of what is above.”

“Be rich in what matters to God”

“You fool, this night your life will be demanded of you; and the things you have prepared, to whom will they belong?”

From ancient Kings and Queens to Dot com billionaires the vice of greed infects and bleeds bringing to their knees economies of nations, corporations, houses of worship and families small and large.

“Seek what is above where Christ is seated.” Think of what is above be rich in what matters to God life does not consist of stuff and more consumer stuff.

On ‘Franken’ bread alone we cannot live; a life rich in the things of God connects with God.

Human souls saved, sanctified, and sent. Saved from self-satisfied greed, saved for the riches of heaven. Sanctified set aside by amazing grace and mercy divine, sanctified for heavens wedding feast of souls.

Sent in sacred service warming hearts grown cold and foolish from self-worship, greed, ambition, pride.

Pray: God saves the world one person at a time by your acts of thanksgiving -offering in the Sunday collection, House of Charity and Catholic Strong. Works of St. Vincent DePaul, works of peace and social Justice.

Pray: If today you hear God’s voice, harden not your hearts; then come to the wedding table and receive the bread of life.

Around this altar table where in Christ there is not transgender, male and female, wealthy and blue collar, St. Nick and Assumption, Republican and Democrat but Christ is all and in all. Hallelujah!

Grow rich in what matters to God. Seek what is above. Think on what is above and within, connecting to the life of God Creator, Spoken Word, Eternal Breathing.

Shall we put to death the parts of us that are of the World?

Put to death selfie Self-worship, PG-13, R. NC-17, X, XXX, Xbox? All is vanities of vanity.

Shall we stop lying to one another as a nation and put on the new self -the image of the creator; that our restless minds may rest in the peace of Christ? Peace unknown by the oh so busy busy World.

Let us be fools for Christ! We who count as nothing in the World, possessing nothing rich to the World, speaking no money making ditty of the World, not wise with the wisdom of the World, but foolish in the systems of the World. Who count as nothing to the World, who know the cross of Christ.

For this day your life will be demanded of you. And to God and God alone you will belong.

Or not.
